タイトル:Reducing the Computational Artifacts for Bioelectromagnetic Simulations
Abstract
The voxel-based human models have been widely utilized in dosimetric computations, aimed at deriving the correlation between the internal electromagnetic dose and external electromagnetic field strength in the absence of a human body. However, the computational artifacts pose a significant challenge to achieving accurate results, particularly at tissue interfaces where abrupt changes in dielectric properties occur. Addressing this issue was mentioned as a key priority outlined in the research agendas of ICNIRP and IEEE ICES. In this lecture, we will begin with an overview of the methods developed to minimize the effect of computational artifacts. Subsequently, we will introduce several newly developed modeling approaches to reduce the staircasing artifacts, and their implementations within the finite-difference computational frameworks.
